Holders of The Platinum Card® from American Express or the Centurion® Card from American Express will soon be able to make restaurant reservations using a new reservation booking tool in the AmEx mobile app. The feature will first become available to a portion of people holding The Platinum Card® from American Express in November 2019 before being rolled out to holders of both cards in early 2020.
The reservation booking tool will allow users to search for restaurants, book new reservations and manage existing reservations from a list of 10,000 restaurants worldwide, including from the American Express Global Dining Collection and through the Resy platform (which AmEx acquired in 2019), Bookatable and Sevenrooms.
AmEx notes that dining is the No. 1 request for Platinum Concierge assistance and a top spending category for AmEx cardholders, even though The Platinum Card® from American Express offers only 1 Membership Rewards point per $1 spent in the category. Terms apply (see rates and fees). The card's annual fee is $695, and new cardholders can earn this welcome offer: Earn 80,000 Membership Rewards® Points after you spend $8,000 on eligible purchases on your new Card in your first 6 months of Card Membership. Terms Apply.
The ultra-exclusive Centurion® Card from American Express charges a $10,000 initiation fee and $5,000 annual fee.
