A suite of Capital One cards, already known for their elevated cash-back rates for foodies, just got more appetizing.

Capital One has temporarily partnered with Uber to offer exclusive discounts on ridesharing and food delivery. Through Nov. 14, 2024, those who have the following cards can get unlimited 10% cash back on Uber and Uber Eats, plus a complimentary Uber One membership:

These cardholders must sign up for the Uber One membership in the Uber or Uber Eats app or website. After creating an account and setting their qualifying Capital One card as the default payment option, they'll receive a monthly statement credit until the offer expires in 2024. (Uber One membership normally costs $9.99 a month. More on that program later.)

Separately, holders of the following Capital One cards can receive up to six months of Uber One membership for free, in the form of $9.99 monthly statement credits (though they won't earn the 10% back on Uber and Uber Eats):

Quicksilver cardholders must also sign up for an Uber One membership in the Uber or Uber Eats app or website. This offer expires Nov. 14, 2024.

Is this a good deal?

It's a great deal, even if you're only an occasional Uber or Uber Eats user.

Capital One's Savor-branded products, in particular, are already among the best credit cards for restaurants and groceries. The $95-annual-fee Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card (no longer available)* earns 4% cash back on dining and 3% back on purchases at grocery stores. Its less expensive sibling, the $0-annual-fee SavorOne, offers 3% cash back in both those categories.

This limited-time deal not only increases the appeal of these cards if you prefer to have food delivered, but also means the eligible cards now offer some of the highest rewards rates on ridesharing, if you're willing to use Uber exclusively. The fact that Capital One student credit cards are eligible is a nice touch, too, for those late-night study sessions that are more enjoyable with pizza or wings.

Yes, Uber Eats in particular tends to come with expensive delivery, service and other fees, plus the cost of tipping your driver. But a 10x rewards rate can help seriously defray those fees, as can the free Uber One membership you'll be eligible for.

What is Uber One?

With an Uber One membership, cardholders will receive the following perks as long as they use their eligible Capital One credit card for payment:

  • Unlimited $0 delivery fee on orders of $15 minimum at participating restaurants, and on orders of $30 minimum at participating grocery stores.

  • Up to 10% off eligible Uber Eats orders.

  • 5% off eligible Uber rides. Shared rides or rides booked 30 minutes or more in advance aren't eligible for the discount.
