Marriott enthusiasts who are looking for a new credit card, take note: As of July 23, 2020, two popular Marriott Bonvoy co-branded cards are sweetening their incentives.
The following cards now feature an increased bonus offer:
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card: Limited Time Offer! Earn 100,000 Bonus Points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card: Limited Time Offer! Earn 50,000 Bonus Points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
With both cards, you’ll earn bonus points for purchases made at Marriott. The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card earns 6 points per $1 spent at Marriott Bonvoy hotels, while the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card earns 3 points per $1 spent. Both cards also offer Silver Elite status.
When deciding between different Marriott credit cards, there are a few key differences to consider. The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card comes with an annual free night award, valid at any participating Marriott Bonvoy hotel up to 35,000 points. In addition to earning 6X points at Marriott, it also earns 2X points on all other purchases. The card's annual fee is $95.
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card has an annual fee of $0, but it doesn't come with a free night award each year. In addition to offering 3X points at Marriott, it earns 2X points per $1 on other eligible travel purchases and 1X point per $1 on purchases everywhere else.
Current and previous holders of the Marriott credit cards issued by American Express may not qualify for the new cardmember bonus.
How you can use Marriott points
You can redeem Marriott points at more than 7,000 hotels worldwide. If you’re looking for a luxury resort, an extended-stay room or anything in between, you can usually find a Marriott that fits the bill.
You may also choose to transfer points to airline partners, redeem them for gift cards, pool them with friends and family, or use a combination of points and cash to book your room. You may not get the best value if you don’t redeem them for Marriott stays, but it’s still an option.
