Breeze Airways, a domestic airline that primarily serves regional airports, has launched its first co-branded credit card, in partnership with Barclays.
The Breeze Easy Visa Signature card has an $89 annual fee and earns rewards on three of the airline's seating tiers: Nice, Nicer and Nicest. You'll get:
Up to 10X BreezePoints for Nicer Bundles; Nicest Bundles; and trip add-ons such as premium seating, additional checked bags, and in-flight snacks and drinks.
Up to 4X BreezePoints on Nice Bundles.
2X BreezePoints on eligible grocery store and restaurant purchases including in-flight food and drinks.
1X BreezePoints on all other purchases.
Those higher reward rates on flights are thanks to a combination of points earned with the card and points earned under Breeze Airways' new loyalty program, Breezy Rewards, which was announced in tandem with the new card. For example, you’d get 5X points for booking a Nicer Bundle with your Breeze credit card, and then 5X through the loyalty program once the flight is completed.
One BreezePoint is worth 1 cent for all redemption options, including Breeze fares and trip add-ons. BreezePoints are not capped and never expire.
As of this writing, the card features the following sign-up bonus: 50,000 BreezePoints for new cardholders who spend $2,000 in the first 90 days of account opening, an offer worth up to $500.
Other benefits of the Breeze Easy Visa include no foreign transaction fee, priority boarding for cardholders and their travel companions, and 7,500 bonus points each card anniversary that cardholders spend $10,000 per year. Breeze Easy cardholders also get free in-flight Wi-Fi on Airbus planes.
Notably absent from the card, however, is a free checked bag perk, which you'd normally expect to find on an airline card with an annual fee. You can get that benefit by booking the airline's Nicer or Nicest Bundles, but not by simply holding the Breeze Easy credit card.
Debuting at the same time as the Breeze card is the No Flex Fare option, which is a step below the Nice Bundle.
