If you and a significant other are planning a getaway, now might be a good time to look into one of Southwest's consumer credit cards.
From Feb. 4 to March 31, 2025, the following cards will feature a welcome offer that includes the airline's coveted Companion Pass, plus 30,000 Rapid Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first three months from account opening.
The Companion Pass allows you to fly one person along with you for free (excluding taxes and fees) on as many flights as you like until it expires on Feb. 28, 2026.
A spending requirement of $4,000 to get the Companion Pass is a steal. Under normal circumstances, you’d have to either fly 100 qualifying one-way flights in a calendar year, or accrue 135,000 Rapid Rewards in a calendar year. As noted, the sign-up bonus also includes 30,000 Rapid Rewards points, which NerdWallet values at 1.5 cents each — or about $450 in travel.
If you like Southwest Airlines and live near one of its focus cities, getting a Southwest credit card may be a worthwhile decision, especially if you can claim this limited-time welcome offer.
