Wells Fargo’s credit card portfolio just got bigger with the release of their newest card: the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey℠. And for the first time, the issuer introduces travel transfer partners for cardholders. Transferring rewards to partners can yield outsize value for deal-seeking travelers.

According to Wells Fargo, the Autograph Journey℠ will be available in select Wells Fargo branches beginning on March 9, 2024, and will be available nationwide and online starting on March 20, 2024.

The travel-centric card comes with a $95 annual fee and a limited-time welcome offer: 60,000 bonus rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first three months. Cardholders will also receive the following benefits:

  • Earn an unlimited 5 points per $1 on hotels, 4 points per $1 on airfare, 3 points per $1 on other travel and dining and 1 point per $1 on all other qualifying purchases.

  • $50 annual statement credit for airfare purchases, usable when you book a flight directly with the airline or through the Wells Fargo travel portal.

  • Travel protection benefits, including trip cancellation insurance up to $15,000 for lodging, flights and activities if the trip is canceled for a covered reason.

  • Access to exclusive live concerts in small venues.

Points are worth 1 cent each when redeemed for a statement credit against travel charges through the Wells Fargo Rewards travel portal, shopping via PayPal and for third-party gift cards.

Wells Fargo adds travel transfer partners

Beyond the new card, Wells Fargo has announced the addition of the following travel transfer partners accessible by cardholders of both the Autograph Journey℠ and the $0-annual fee Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card :

According to Wells Fargo, the ability to transfer points to partners will begin on April 4, 2024. Rewards earned on your card will transfer to partner loyalty programs at a 1:1 ratio except for Choice Privileges, where Wells Fargo points transfer to Choice Privileges at a 1:2 ratio.

While the transfer partner list isn't as broad as other transferable point currencies, such as Chase Ultimate Rewards® or American Express Membership Rewards, more redemption options are good for consumers.

🤓Nerdy Tip

Points can be combined between Wells Fargo primary-cardholder accounts. If you hold the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card, cash-back rewards earned on that card can also be combined with rewards from the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card and Wells Fargo Autograph Journey℠. However, if you only hold the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card you cannot transfer rewards to travel partners.
