If you’re planning an island getaway, here are 10 Hilton hotels in the Caribbean where you can earn or redeem Hilton Honors points.

Best Hilton Caribbean resorts

As the first Palm Beach luxury resort to open back in 1959, the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino is often credited for kickstarting tourism on the island. Today, it has expanded to three buildings, plus two swimming pools set against a wide stretch of white sand.

The resort's new Power Palapas (beachside charging stations) make remote working easier, as each station is complete with power and USB outlets, laptop cooling pads and the option to flip a special marker from red to green so that a server will appear.

2. Hilton Barbados Resort

Nearby beaches on Needhams Point are easily accessible from the hotel. In addition to a spa, there is also a variety of free watersports.

3. Hilton Grand Vacations at The Crane, Barbados

Another Barbados property, the Hilton Grand Vacations at The Crane property, is located in St. Philip on the magnificent Crane Beach. This Caribbean hotel is better suited to travelers who want residential-style accommodations with a full kitchen, living area and multiple bedrooms. Some units even have their own plunge pool.

Guests here can use the facilities of neighboring The Crane Resort, including its 1 1/2-acre pool complex, shopping village, dining, tennis and spa facilities.

In addition to the points you'd earn from using a Hilton credit card, as a Hilton Honors member, you would accumulate 10 points for every $1 spent at most Hilton properties. Home2 Suites and Tru hotels earn 5 points per $1.

If you’re an elite member, you earn additional bonuses on top of the 10 points per $1:

  • Silver: 20% bonus points.

  • Gold: 80% bonus points.

  • Diamond: 100% bonus points.

So how can you use all this to maximize your earnings? Let's say you have the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card and use it to pay for your Hilton stay, you'd earn 30 points per each $1 spent ( 12 points per $1 for using the card + 18 points per $1 for being a Gold elite member, which you become by being a card holder). So, for a $400 hotel stay, you'd earn 12,000 Hilton points. Since NerdWallet values Hilton points at 0.6 cent each, those 12,000 Hilton points are worth $72.
