Now that Australia’s borders have reopened after COVID-19 closures, it's ready to welcome travelers, who will find a number of new hotels where they can earn and redeem hotel points.

From big cities to smaller destinations popular with business and leisure travelers, there's a lot to explore Down Under.

And coming later this year (and beyond) are many exciting openings. Marriott Bonvoy fans will have a new W Sydney, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Melbourne and Moxy Sydney Airport (among other Marriott family brands) to look forward to on future trips.

Hilton Honors guests will find a new Hilton Garden Inn in Busselton, Western Australia, facing Geographe Bay. World of Hyatt fans will be pleased to see a new Hyatt Regency Hotel Adelaide and Hyatt Place Brisbane opening next year.

Accor All Live Limitless fans have a new opening in the Porter House Hotel Sydney (part of the M Gallery Collection) later this year. And IHG One Rewards loyalists willing to hold out even longer can look forward to the InterContinental Parramatta in Western Sydney, which will open in 2025.

Here are some of the best new hotels in Australia where you can take advantage of hotel elite status benefits while earning and redeeming hard-earned points.

1. W Melbourne (Marriott Bonvoy)

The design-forward W Hotels brand has opened in Melbourne, and it is said to be the city’s first luxury lifestyle brand. A Japanese restaurant, pool and fitness center, and cocktail and coffee bars all are designed to impress at W Melbourne.

Marriott Bonvoy has moved to a partial dynamic pricing model, which means that award night redemption rates vary by night, but Marriott is keeping most hotels within a certain range of points for 2022.

2. The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart (Marriott Bonvoy)

Located in Hobart, the hotel is near Parliament Square and the city’s Salamanca Markets. Not sure what you want to do on the island? The hotel is home to Tasmania’s only Clefs d’Or concierge to guide you. The points needed for a redemption night here will depend on the dates of your stay.
