If you’re a tennis player looking for a great place to stay on your next vacation, we’ve done the research to find the best tennis hotels for your trip.

Whether you’re looking to plan your entire vacation around tennis or stay at a hotel with world-class tennis courts, we’ve compiled a list of the six best hotels with tennis courts for your next getaway.

1. The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami

If you’re looking for a hotel with tennis courts, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami should be at the top of your list. At the hotel, you’ll find the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center, which is the largest tennis center at any Ritz-Carlton with 10 tennis courts and three paddle ball courts. The hotel also offers guests access to tennis clinics and one-on-one lessons with its tennis pros and instructors.

If you’re looking for an immersive tennis trip, you can book an adult tennis camp at the hotel which includes a one-and-a-half-hour group lesson, a one-hour private lesson every day and game matching services to find an opponent during your stay.

Given that it’s a Ritz-Carlton, keep in mind that prices aren’t cheap — the tennis camp starts at $847 per night before taxes, which includes accommodation and tennis.

2. JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa

The BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, is considered one of the top masters tennis tournaments in the world, so it’s not surprising that the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, located roughly a 10-minute drive from Indian Wells, is a great destination for tennis lovers.

The hotel is home to the Desert Springs Tennis Club, which features 15 hard courts, three clay courts and two grass courts, as well as private tennis lessons and is ranked the third-best tennis resort by Tennis Resorts Online.

3. Mauna Kea Resort

If you’re looking for world-class tennis courts in an idyllic setting, look no further than the Mauna Kea Resort on Hawaii’s Big Island. The hotel is home to the Seaside Tennis Club, which features:

  • 10 oceanside tennis courts.

  • A pro shop.

  • Individual game-matching.

  • Private and group lessons.

  • Tennis clinics.

  • Tennis equipment rentals.

The Seaside Tennis Club was recently named the fourth-best tennis resort in the world and the third-best setting for a tennis resort (which makes sense, given the ocean views you can take in from the courts).

4. Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale

The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale is a Hilton property that features seven tennis courts in the foothills of the Sonoran Desert. The hotel offers semi-private and private tennis lessons with United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) instructors, with prices starting at $125 for an hour-long lesson. The hotel also features a daily tennis clinic from June 1 to Sept. 15.

If you’re looking to play tennis in a beautiful setting while on vacation, The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale is a great choice as the tennis courts were ranked the fourth-best setting in the world by Tennis Resorts Online.

5. Carlisle Bay Antigua

If you’re looking to mix a tropical island vacation with a tennis trip, the Carlisle Bay Antigua should definitely be on your list.

The hotel features nine tennis courts, including four that are lit for cooler nighttime play. The Carlisle Bay Antigua offers complimentary tennis clinics, as well as professional instruction in either group or one-on-one lessons.

The Carlisle Bay Antigua also offers unique and tailor-made tennis packages, such as the “Tennis Taster” package, which includes three 55-minute tennis sessions and a half-hour neck/back massage for $220.

6. Kiawah Island Golf Resort

Don’t let the “golf resort” name fool you — the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina is one of the best tennis hotels in the world. The hotel is home to the Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy, which offers year-round training and coaching with a staff of 10 coaches.

The Kiawah Island Golf Resort has 22 tennis courts located next to the beach and was named the top tennis resort in the world by Top Resorts Online.

For a full-immersive tennis weekend, we recommend booking the classic two-night tennis experience package, which includes accommodation, unlimited court time and daily breakfast — though if you’re just looking to play a few games on your trip, you can book a court for $40 an hour.

The bottom line

If you love playing tennis, there are a number of great options for hotels with tennis courts including The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa and Mauna Kea Resort.

Before picking a hotel for tennis, we recommend researching the typical weather conditions around the time of your visit to minimize the chances of the weather getting in the way of your court time.
