You’ve heard of Tripadvisor, Expedia and Viator, but Klook may have flown under your radar. Like other online travel agencies, Klook sells discounted tours, hotels, attraction tickets, rail passes and more, mostly in cities in Asia.

Let’s take a look at what Klook offers and how you can take advantage of its discounts.

What is Klook?

Klook is an online travel booking platform, where you can buy tickets for activities, transportation, hotels and more. You can access Klook via its website or its app, both of which are robust and intuitive to use.

What does Klook offer?

  • Tours.

  • Theme park tickets.

  • Hotels.

  • Rental cars.

  • Shuttle services.

  • SIM cards.

  • Attraction tickets.

  • Discounted dining offers.

  • Insurance.

  • Travel services.

  • Rail passes.

  • Flights.

Where to use Klook

Klook is predominantly focused on Asia, with a broad array of offerings across the continent. However, you’ll also find Klook options available in some Western countries and cities.

  • United Kingdom.

  • India.

  • Australia.

  • New Zealand.

  • Fiji.

  • South Africa.

  • New York.

  • Los Angeles.

  • San Francisco.

  • Washington, D.C.

  • Las Vegas.

  • Boston.

  • Vancouver, Canada.

Some destinations may feature fewer options than others, so be sure to compare offerings across a variety of travel companies or consult a travel agent.

How to use Klook

Klook is simple to use, whether you’re relying on the app or the website. Once you’re on the homepage, you have a few options. If you already know what you’re looking for, you can type it directly into Klook’s search bar.

For example, if you’re in Japan, you may want to use Klook for Universal Studios Japan theme park tickets. Typing your search into the bar will bring up all kinds of results, including the tickets themselves (with or without Express Pass), bus transfer options and even nearby hotels.

Within the results, you'll see pricing, reviews, how popular the item is, available discounts and whether you’ll have immediate confirmation once booked.

Selecting a specific result will give you more information, such as package and timing options, as well as a more detailed description of what you’re buying.

Once you’ve decided on what you’d like to purchase, you'll go through the checkout process is simple. For example, to buy the Universal Studios tickets in the example above, you’ll need to select the date of your visit and how many tickets you’ll need. You can then add these to your cart.

Note that you will need a Klook account to make a purchase. Signing up is free; you just need your email address, phone number or a social media account.

After your tickets are in your account, you just need to pay.

Is Klook legit?

Klook has been around since 2014 and has huge backers investing in its product. These include Goldman Sachs, SoftBank Investment Advisers, Matrix Partners, TCV and Sequoia.

Like all online travel agencies, though, Klook can make reservations difficult to change or cancel. After all, Klook is a middleman between you and the company actually providing the service, and there is some risk that booking details can get lost or mixed up.

Plus, hotels often do not recognize your hotel loyalty when you book through an online travel agency. If you want to earn hotel points and elite qualifying nights for the stay, you'd be better off booking directly with the hotel.

Saving money with Klook

Because Klook is already a discount, it allows you to save money on your bookings. That being said, Klook regularly releases promo codes on its website, which you can use for additional discounts.

Your best bet for discounts, per Klook, is to join the site’s Telegram group, where Klook releases exclusive deals for customers.

Klook alternatives

There are tons of alternative online travel agencies that can also save you money.

For example, booking with Expedia allows you to earn OneKeyCash on all your bookings, and Expedia’s platform includes flights as well as activities, hotels, cruises and vacation home rentals. Even better, you can stack your rewards by using a shopping portal like Rakuten, which will give you up to 3% back on your bookings.

If you have an eligible travel card, you can also use the card’s travel portal to book travel and activities while saving money.

If you’re interested in using Klook …

Klook is a massive travel platform allowing you to book all kinds of activities, hotels, flights, car transfers, SIM cards and more through its website or app. With an easy-to-use interface, it makes finding and booking your travel simple.

However, if you’d prefer not to use Klook, there are plenty of other opportunities to save money and earn rewards when booking your travel.
