We believe everyone should be able to make financial decisions with
confidence. While we don't cover every company or financial product on
the market, we work hard to share a wide range of offers and objective
editorial perspectives.
So how do we make money? Our partners compensate us for advertisements that
appear on our site. This compensation helps us provide tools and services -
like free credit score access and monitoring. With the exception of
mortgage, home equity and other home-lending products or services, partner
compensation is one of several factors that may affect which products we
highlight and where they appear on our site. Other factors include your
credit profile, product availability and proprietary website methodologies.
However, these factors do not influence our editors' opinions or ratings, which are based on independent research and analysis. Our partners cannot

Have a mountain of Marriott Bonvoy points but don’t want to burn them on another cookie-cutter hotel stay? Enter: Marriott Bonvoy Moments.
This program lets Marriott Bonvoy members bid on — or buy outright — experiences ranging from luxury boxes at sporting events to dinners at exclusive restaurants and even cooking lessons with celebrity chefs.
It’s appealing to cardholders who want to use their points to buy something other than airline tickets and hotel stays. Heck, one Marriott Bonvoy loyalist spent more than 2 million points on the opportunity to make his own, custom Bellagio fountain show.
Let’s break it down — including a look at the best Marriott Bonvoy Moments available right now.
What Is Marriott Bonvoy Moments?
Marriott Bonvoy Moments is a rewards program that gives members the option to redeem points for unique experiences instead of traditional hotel or flight redemptions. These experiences range across categories including:
Culinary: Food and wine festivals, chef-hosted dinners, cooking classes.
Lifestyle: High-end travel, cultural immersions (think: Monaco Grand Prix, an annual Formula One motor racing event).
Sports: VIP suites and on-field access at major games.
Partners: Experiences through Marriott’s corporate tie-ins (NFL, Chicago Cubs, Madison Square Garden, and more).
The program runs year-round, so as old experiences sell out, new ones are added.

How to redeem Marriott Bonvoy Moments: Auctions vs. fixed price
There are two ways to snag a Bonvoy Moment:
1. Auctions
Bid using your points — and the highest bidder wins. These are typically reserved for rare or ultra-exclusive experiences. But beware: what looks cheap early on can skyrocket in the final minutes.
Case in point? Scott Krupa (the fountain show winner) said that his prized Bellagio experience was priced at just 1.3 million Bonvoys at five minutes until closing. Within just a few minutes, it spiked to more than 2 million.

Marriott's system has features to help automate your bidding. For example, you can preset the highest amount of points you’re willing to spend. The program automatically places bids for you until either you win or the bidding exceeds your limit.
2. Fixed-price purchases
No bidding war. Just lock in the experience with the listed point cost. These typically have a set number of redemptions available, so they’re exclusive — but not one-of-a-kind.
Members can purchase up to five Bonvoy Moments experiences in a calendar year. Additionally, a single experience might have multiple packages within it (say, multiple sets of a pair of tickets to a concert, but members can only purchase two packages per experience (so you could bring four people if you bought two packages that included two tickets each).
All Marriott Bonvoy Moments purchases are final with no refunds. Once you’ve purchased your Bonvoy Moment, the points are immediately removed from your account and cannot be returned.
No transfers
Experiences may not be transferred. I Marriott believes that you have sold, marketed or reassigned your experience without Marriott’s explicit written consent, then you will lose the experience and your points will be forfeited.

Are Marriott Bonvoy Moments a good use of points?
Value-wise, you’ll usually squeeze more out of your Bonvoy stash by booking hotel nights — we estimate Bonvoy points are worth 0.8 cent each.
But when it comes to experiences you literally can’t buy with cash, Moments can be well worth the splurge — especially if you’ve got a large points balance and a bucket-list event on the horizon.
To assess value, divide the retail cost of the experience by the number of points it costs. If it exceeds 0.8 cent per point, you're coming out ahead.
If you’re points-rich and adventure-hungry, Marriott Bonvoy Moments might be your ticket to unforgettable memories. While not always the best dollar-for-point redemption, the emotional and exclusive value can far outweigh the math.
Looking for front-row seats to life’s most thrilling events? Your Bonvoy points might just be your backstage pass.
