There’s more to the Universal Orlando Resort than just rides. The resort is home to all sorts of shows, from theatrical productions on a stage, to what feels like an impromptu performance on the street. There's a Hawaiian luau, and one show even relies on animals as the actors.
Though you might not have time for them all — especially if you only have one day at Universal — here's a look at the best shows at Universal Studios Orlando so you can prioritize your time.
Best shows at the Universal Orlando Resort
You can catch Universal shows at two of its three theme parks: Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Alas, the Volcano Bay water park doesn't have any shows.
You’ll also find shows at some Universal hotels as well as at Universal CityWalk, the resort’s main shopping and entertainment hub.

The best shows at Universal Studios Florida
Universal Studios Florida is the original Universal park in Florida. This theme park is themed to NBCUniversal's TV shows and movies, which goes well with live entertainment. Here are its best shows.
The Bourne Stuntacular
This stunt show is surprisingly impressive, seamlessly blending live actors with and massive LED screens to simulate a movie action scene.
Horror Make-Up Show
Horror movie fans will love The Horror Makeup Show, which is more hilarious than horrifying.
It offers an insightful look into the world of special effects, revealing how makeup artists create Hollywood’s scariest monsters, complete with live demonstrations and audience participation.
Animal Actors on Location!
One of the best shows for families, Animal Actors on Location! features animal actors including birds, dogs, cats and pigs performing skits and interacting with the audience. It's 20 minutes and runs throughout the day, so it’s easy to catch without much advance planning.
Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees
Harry Potter fans will want to catch Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees. Located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley, this open-air show runs multiple times per day.
It features songs from the Harry Potter books — including "A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love" over which Fleur Delacour and Molly Weasley argued in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
The Universal Express Pass includes priority admission to in-demand shows.

The best shows at Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Universal’s Islands of Adventure doesn’t have many shows, mostly because it tends to rely on larger rides and intensive theming to create excitement.

There's some sporadic street entertainment that can be pretty charming, like the Frog Choir in Hogsmeade, but nothing worth going out of your way for.
Though, that'll change this summer when the beloved Hogwarts Always show returns in summer 2025. The seven-and-a-half-minute show with projections made its initial debut in 2024 as a limited-run performance, but it's back by popular demand.
The best shows at Universal Epic Universe
There's not a ton we know yet about Universal Epic Universe, as Universal's newest theme park won't open until May 22, 2025. But we already know there are a few shows in the works.

At an area of the park dubbed "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic," Harry Potter fans will get to see the first full-scale theater show ever seen in a Harry Potter land.

Another highly-anticipated show is themed to "How To Train Your Dragon." Called “The Untrainable Dragon” it'll tell the story of a new dragon that shows up to the Isle of Perk in a family-friendly, theatrical show.
Universal Orlando Resort Hotels
The Universal Orlando Resort has about a dozen hotels on property, ranging from budget options to high-end resorts. A couple of the best hotels (meaning those in the pricey Signature Collection tier) offer live entertainment. Luckily, you don't need to be a guest to partake.
Wantilan Luau
Located at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, the Wantilan Luau takes place once per week on Saturday evenings.
Tickets run about $100 per adult and $45 per kid, though premium tickets with better seats (and a souvenir ticket mug) cost slightly more.
Along with live music, you’ll see hula dancers and fire dancers, all while taking part in an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Musica della Notte
If you enjoy live music, catch this free, nightly show at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. Taking place each evening, those in the Harbor Piazza will be treated to classic opera, festive melodies and "popera" by a chorus of singers.
Universal CityWalk
The Universal CityWalk includes many restaurants, shops, bars and entertainment venues, but Hard Rock Live Orlando dominates.
Hard Rock Live Orlando
You’ll need tickets to see an event at Hard Rock Live Orlando, which hosts acts such as George Lopez, Billy Joel and Kesha.
