The 10X miles promotion at Hotels.com described in this article expired at the end of January 2020.
Holders of Capital One's Venture credit cards will be able to earn big rewards on hotel stays until January 2020.
On Jan. 30, 2018, Capital One announced it is partnering with travel aggregator site Hotels.com to offer bonus rewards to Venture cardholders. From now until the end of January 2020, you'll earn 10 miles per dollar spent when booking stays through Hotels.com/venture on these eligible cards:
Because miles are worth 1 cent each when redeemed for travel, the deal essentially amounts to 10% off on eligible hotels — a huge benefit, especially for travelers who value flexibility when planning hotel stays. And paired with the solid ongoing rewards rates these cards offer, it's quite generous.
"At the end of the day with this [offer], in terms of the rewards you receive, you’re not tied down to a specific city, a specific brand, a specific property type,” says Scott Ludwig, Hotels.com director for North America.
How it works
Here’s how you can earn rewards through this offer:
Pay for your hotel stay on Hotels.com/venture with a Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or a Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card - Miles Boost. You won't earn the bonus rewards if you don't book through that specific page.
Wait for the rewards. After you make the transaction, the bonus rewards will be added to your account at the same time as the rest of your rewards earned by regular spending, Capital One confirms.
The offer is available to both new and current cardholders and doesn’t require any activation. There are no limits to how many miles you can earn through the offer.
Keep in mind that when you book through Hotels.com/venture, you have to pay for your stay upfront — not later, at the hotel desk. But just because you pay in advance doesn’t necessarily mean the stay is nonrefundable. Check the terms of your stay before booking.
You don’t need to be a Hotels.com member to qualify for this offer. However, if you do become a Hotels.com member (it’s free to sign up), you can get additional rewards through that program, which lets you get one night free after collecting 10 nights, among other benefits.
