9 Major Hotel Chains With Free Breakfast

Free breakfast in a hotel is convenient and — at the best brands can be surprisingly tasty. At some hotels, the only way to get free breakfast is by joining loyalty programs and working your way toward earning elite status (often you can easily earn elite status through holding certain credit cards). But at other brands, there's nothing you have to do to get free breakfast aside from book a room.

Here’s how to get breakfast for free at nine of the biggest hotel companies (listed in alphabetical order), even without elite status:

Best Western offers a free breakfast at most of their locations. If the hotel has an onsite restaurant, Best Western says it is at their discretion (your booking will say if the hotel includes free breakfast).

If the hotel offers a staff-served breakfast, expect menu items including a pre-packaged or homemade breakfast sandwich, yogurt, cereals, a pre-wrapped muffin, pastry, or breakfast bread and fruit (either pre-wrapped individually or fresh whole fruit).

Otherwise, Grab & Go breakfast is available at other hotels, as well as for guests departing before breakfast service begins.

Comfort Suites, Quality Inn and Comfort Inn offer complimentary breakfast for all guests. The hotel promises a free hot, fresh and healthy breakfast with items like eggs, waffles or pancakes.

Drury Hotels is known for its generous perks, and one of the biggest draws for budget-conscious travelers is its free breakfast and evening 5:30 Kickback.

The free hot breakfast includes a solid spread of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and waffles, and a rotating selection of other items like breakfast potatoes or fresh fruit. Plus, coffee and tea are available all day in the lobby—a nice touch for caffeine lovers.

The 5:30 Kickback is another standout perk, essentially offering a complimentary light dinner. Guests can expect a rotating selection of hot dishes such as pasta, baked potatoes, chicken tenders and soup, along with salad and nachos. Adults receive three free alcoholic drinks per night, including beer, wine, or mixed drinks. While it’s not a full restaurant-style dinner, the Kickback can be substantial enough to replace a meal, helping travelers save money.

Embassy Suites by Hilton, Hampton by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton offer free breakfast to all guests with a standard reservation. And the breakfast at most of these properties is pretty good, too.

As far as the rest of Hilton's hotels, you can get free breakfast by holding either Gold or Diamond elite status. With that, you get a daily food and beverage credit to use on breakfast — or any meal of the day (brunch, linner and late-night snacks are all eligible) at all properties that don't otherwise offer free breakfast to all guests. The amount of the credit varies by hotel brand, but generally speaking, more upscale hotel brands offer a higher credit.

You can also purchase a Breakfast Included package when you stay at a Hilton that includes breakfast for two adults per room. This rate is slightly higher than a standard room, so it’s not totally free.

Free breakfast at Embassy Suites by Hilton

Embassy Suites is best known not just for its made-to-order breakfast , but also its nightly evening reception. There, guests can partake in complimentary beer, wine and certain spirits alongside light appetizers (typically things like chips and salsa or pretzels).

As far as breakfast, it's one of the best among any hotel chain — largely driven by the brand’s signature cooked-to-order omelets.

Free breakfast at Hampton by Hilton

Hampton stands out for its waffles, which have long been a guest favorite. Depending on the season, Hilton regularly swaps out its waffles with new flavors such as red velvet, lemon and — in the fall — pumpkin spice.

Other breakfast items include eggs, bacon, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal and fruit.

Free breakfast at Home2 Suites by Hilton

Homewood Suites is notable for its make your own taco bar, which rolled out across its U.S. hotels in May 2024. The taco bar offers a diversity of ingredients, including corn and flour tortillas, pickled onions, jalapenos, cremas, salsa, hot sauces, plus a wide range of proteins, including smoked pulled pork, chicken carnitas and chorizo.

If tacos for breakfast aren't your thing, other Homewood Suites breakfast options include overnight oats and chia pudding. Sensitive to dietary restrictions, both the overnight oats and chia pudding are made with oat milk, are nut-free and can be topped with various healthy items, such as dried fruit, nuts and seeds.

Free breakfast at Tru by Hilton

Tru guests can load up on what the hotel calls its "Top It Breakfast Bar." There, the complimentary hot breakfast features an automatic pancake maker with toppings such as crushed pineapple, candy and nut butters.

For healthier options, items include cereals, yogurt, fruit and oatmeal.

Hyatt House, Hyatt Place offer free breakfast to all guests.

At most other Hyatt properties, you can get free breakfast by having Hyatt Globalist elite status every day for up to two adults and two children, provided they’re registered guests. Or, if your hotel has a club lounge. you'll get access to not just its breakfast offerings, but also snacks, drinks and evening hors d’oeuvres.

Holiday Inn Express, Avid Hotels and Staybridge Suites locations offer complimentary breakfast for all guests.

Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo have a Best Flex with Breakfast deal for up to two adults per room.

Residence Inn by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Fairfield by Marriott, and TownePlace Suites by Marriott locations all have free breakfast with a standard reservation.

At most other Marriott properties, breakfast is typically included if you have Platinum status or higher in the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Otherwise, Marriott typically offers a Stay for Breakfast package at many of its properties for an additional fee added to your reservation.

Complimentary, hot breakfast is available to all guests at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson hotels.

Otherwise, Radisson offers complimentary breakfast to its Platinum status holders — but make sure to read the fine print. The status holder must be the registered guest, and only the status holder received complimentary breakfast.
