Though, there are five relatively convenient airport options if you’re traveling to Disneyland.

Here are the airports near Disneyland, listed by proximity to the resort.

1. John Wayne Airport (SNA): In Orange County, 14 miles away.

2. Long Beach Airport (LGB): 18 miles away.

3. Ontario International Airport (ONT): 34 miles away.

4. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): 40 miles away.

5. Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR): 42 miles away.

The closest airports to the park are Long Beach (LGB) and John Wayne / Orange County (SNA). Because of their location, they can be smart and convenient options for your trip to Disneyland.

Barring Los Angeles' infamous traffic congestion, it could take you as little as 25 minutes to drive to the park from either airport.

Alas, just because they are the closest doesn't mean they will offer the most affordable fares. Since these are smaller airports than Los Angeles (LAX), there will be fewer direct flights. Fares — whether paying in cash and using points — might also be slightly higher as a result.

Ideally, you'll be able to find affordable airfare to one of these more conveniently-located airports. This will minimize your travel time once you land in California, not to mention keep more dollars in your pocket for souvenirs or park upgrades like Genie+.

Unless you're able to score a cheap fare, avoid flying into Ontario or Burbank. You risk more traffic back ups and longer commutes because of the distance between these airports and the resort.

Expect to drive at least an hour after landing if you fly into Ontario or Burbank.

LAX arrivals will similarly run the risk of a long transfer, but if you find airfare that is a steal or offers a more convenient travel schedule, it may be worth shlepping inland anyway.

Points and miles are a great way to cover travel expenses to anywhere, but especially Disneyland. With everything else being so expensive, it can make a big difference. You can allocate the money saved on airfare towards other Disney conveniences or delicious treats.
