Drawbacks of the Rogers Red World Elite® Mastercard®
Limits to travel cover: The travel insurance does not include coverage for delayed flights, lost or delayed baggage, or hotel burglaries, leaving frequent travelers seeking more comprehensive protection.
Paid airport lounge access: While the card provides access airport lounges, each visit costs $32 USD per person.
Lacks premium perks: The card does not offer popular travel benefits such as priority boarding, free checked bags, or transferable rewards for frequent flyer programs, which are available with some competing cards.
Restricted cash-back redemption: Cash-back rewards cannot be redeemed as direct statement credits; they must be applied toward eligible purchases made with the card.
Who should get the Rogers Red World Elite® Mastercard®?
The Rogers Red World Elite® Mastercard® is best suited for:
Cross-border shoppers who frequently make U.S. dollar purchases and want to maximize the 3% cash-back rate.
Current Rogers, Fido or Shaw customers, as cardholders with at least one existing service can earn 2% unlimited cash back on all non-U.S. dollar purchases.
Everyday spenders who seek cash-back rewards on a no-fee credit card with added travel perks.
Is the Rogers Red World Elite® Mastercard® worth it?
The Rogers Red World Elite® Mastercard® is likely worth it for frequent U.S. dollar spenders and Rogers customers, as it offers strong cash-back rates and no annual fee.
However, if your spending doesn’t include U.S. dollars or you lack a Rogers, Fido, or Shaw account, the card may offer limited value compared to more versatile options.
